French carmaker Renault is going strong with its product expansion in the country. After launching the much awaited Duster SUV, the carmaker is all set to launch its new entry-level sedan in the country before Diwali (November).
The news was revealed by Renault India Managing Director Marc Nassif while speaking at the launch of the Duster SUV in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Renault had earlier promised to launch five new cars in the country. However, Marc declined to get into the details of the new sedan. Renault currently sells Fluence sedan, Koleos SUV, Pulse hatchback and now the Duster in the country.
Speculations are that the new entry-level sedan will be based on the highly selling Nissan Sunny sedan and priced in the Rs 7 - 10 lakh range. There is every possibility for this considering the fact that Renault has a global partnership with Japan's Nissan.
Now, Renault would be able to price its cars competitively as the company has attained a localisation up to 60 per cent. The company, which has been investing heavily in the country, aims to open its 100th outlet in the country by 2013 end.
