In
an attempt to reach out his fans, Amitabh Bachchan — the Big B of
Bollywood – who has hundreds and millions of followers on Twitter has
now joined Facebook – the No.1 Social networking site of the world with
over 955 million active users.
Reportedly, the Megastar’s Facebook timeline will offer information about his upcoming movies, show videos and exclusive pictures from his collections.
While
announcing his Facebook page, the Big B was quoted in the media,
appreciating the Mark Zuckerberg’s social network. Mr. Bachchan said,
“Facebook needs no introduction and I feel that my official Facebook fan
page was long overdue. Facebook is a powerful tool that helps bring
people together and allows us to embrace being a part of a larger
community. I have been encouraged by the overwhelming reception to my
tumblr blog, and this is another avenue to reach out to my fans, not
only in India, but globally.”
The 69-year-old superstar also posted a video on his Facebook Timeline, in which he mentioned that his main aim to activate the new profile was to expand his network, especially, to develop closer interactions with his fanboys. In the video, he said, “I am now on Facebook…. Year after year, month after month, day after day, we just keep coming closer to each other. Lovely to have you here and we shall be seeing each other and you will be getting to know more about me and my daily activities through this wonderful medium.”
