With
the official unveiling of the next iPhone – speculated to be on
September 12 – is drawing close, the tech world is witnessing hordes of
reports hinting at the possible features to be included in the
much-awaited smartphone.
Latest
one comes from Reuters, their latest report has suggests that LG
Display has started the mass production of touchscreen display with
in-cell technology – the panels that are expected to be incorporated in the iPhone 5.
“Flat-screen
maker LG Display has started mass production of a new and thinner
display, widely speculated to be for use in Apple Inc’s next iPhone, and
the display’s production schedule remains in line with customers’ product release plans,”said the report.
Further,
the report has quoting the statement from Han Sang-beom, chief
executive of LG Display, a panel supplier for Apple products. He has
stated, “We
just began mass production and we don’t expect any disruption in
supplies. The in-cell technology is the industry’s latest development.
(But) we will be able to supply the panels without fail.”
Moreover,
the Reuters report went on claiming that the new iPhone will feature a
larger display, which will be 30% bigger than the one in the current
iPhone, to rival with the Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphone with an enormous
4.8 inch display.
Earlier
this month, Gizbot carried a report which carried the statement of the
President of Sharp, Takashi Okuda stating that, “Shipments will start in
August”. However, in the report a specific shipment date was not
mentioned.
In
the meantime, amidst the ever increasing rumors and speculations about
the upcoming iPhone, a picture of the alleged iPhone 5 USB cable along
with a smaller dock connector has leaked online. Jack Yao of Veister, a
Chinese accessory Vendor circulated the photo on Twitter showing the FTC markings on it displaying a QR code on the normal USB end.
A report by iLounge
states “The cable appears to be highly similar to past Apple cables,
with a full-sized USB plug on one end and what appears to be Apple’s
newly shrunken 8-pin connector on the other. It is unclear whether the
part shown is a replacement cable or a genuine Apple part with
pre-production markings.”
However according to TheVerge reports, there are “a third-party replacement” possibilities in the cable.
At
the same time, rumors are also rife that the sixth generation iPhone
will feature a 4 inch display with 640 x 1136 pixel resolution, improved
processor, 4G LTE technology, Near Field Communication (NFC), a smaller
dock connector, 1GB RAM, iOS 6, improved Siri, liquidmetal casing, an 8
megapixel (or even higher) rear camera, a 2 megapixel front-facing
camera for video chatting and a much-improved battery life.
The
Cupertino based company will reportedly unveil the next iPhone at a
media event on September 12 alongside the iOS 6. Till that time, the
Apple fanboys will have to wait and watch that out of all the rumors
swirling in the tech media world, how many of them will turn out to be
substantial.
