The Florida Teacher Certification Examination is the gateway test that you have to pass in order to be a teacher in Florida. The FTCE test is made up of three tests, the General Knowledge, the professional education test and the subject area examination. Depending on the background of the candidate, he/she may be required to take one test, two tests or three tests. For succeeding in the test, candidates are advised to enrol with a preparation guide that will provide you with practice test questions. The FTCE practice exam is highly beneficial as the FTCE practice test questions are modelled on the actual test pattern, thereby making it immensely easy for the examinee to obtain passing score in the first attempt. The test schedules and the format are complicated but it would only require perseverance and dedication to pass the test. The FTCE practice tests at once prepare the right candidate for the tests.

The eligibility criteria for the test are determined by the bureau of educator certification. The bureau will send you an official statement on your eligibility status depending on your application for certification. You can also consult with a Florida education certification specialist to determine your eligibility for the tests. Once your eligibility has been determined it is easy for you to prepare for the tests using the courses, books and guides. but you would also have to enroll with a preparatory course for all round preparation. Many students have benefited from the practice exams for FTCE, and you should also take the advantages of these tests.

The professional education test is applied for by the candidates looking for a professional certificate. The PEd test requires 2 ½ hours and it assesses the professional practices skills and the pedagogy skills of the candidate. Often examinees combine a FTCE subject area test in the morning and the professional test in the afternoon.

The subject area tests are designed for academic degrees and for vocational subject areas. This examination is presented in the MCQ format. The Social science, English 6-12 and the math 6-12 tests are included in the subject area examinations. Candidates, who apply for a professional certificate and those who incorporate a subject area in the professional test, must obtain a passing score for the subject area in which they require certification. Except for the elementary education K 6 test, the subject area tests take about 2 ½ hours each. The K 6 test will require all morning and entire afternoon with a lunch break in between. Using any kind of mobile devices is prohibited during the test. Before you take on the actual test, make sure that you are going through the FTCE practice tests to have an emulation of how the actual test is going to be.

Finally, there is the General Knowledge test. The GK test is constructed of four subtests, in maths, English language, reading and essay writing. All parts are equally important to pass. The time for essay writing is 50 minutes, for English language skills is 40 minutes, for reading it is 40 minutes and for mathematics it is 100 minutes. For the essay writing, candidates are required to write a completely original essay on a given topic. Memorizing an essay and writing it down will be considered as plagiarism and will be dealt accordingly. The FTCE practice test would help to prepare you well so that you do not have to resort to plagiarism.
