Mumbai, Jun 21: Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, whose show Satyameva Jayate garnered much attention for its episodes throwing light on social issues, will address the Parliament on Thursday over the malpractices in the medical sector.
The actor will be accompanied by his team when he visits the Parliament today, said his spokesperson.
Aamir Khan's recent show threw light on the malpractices in the medical sector practised by doctors and the sale of drugs. His episode showed examples of people who could have been cured with simple drugs but were advised to undergo surgeries in a bid to extort money from them.
Aamir Khan was invited by a Rajya Sabha MP to speak over the issue. The Indian Medical Association (IMA) who is at tenterhooks with Aamir Khan demanded an apology from him after the show was telecast.
Meanwhile, the Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC) temporarily suspended the registration of 13 doctors in the state after a show on female foeticide was aired on the show-Satyameva Jayate.
