Global warming? This was fourth warmest June in 150 years
Geneva: Average global temperatures this June were the fourth warmest since record keeping began in 1880, the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) has said.

The combined average temperature over global land and ocean surfaces was 16.12 degrees Celsius, 0.63 degrees above the 20th century average, Xinhua reported.

Most areas of the world experienced above-average monthly temperatures, the WMO said citing statistics from the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The areas included North America, Eurasia and northern Africa.

However, the monthly temperature during June in Britain was below the 1971-2000 average, making it the coolest June since 1991, said the report.
