Salman Khan's trademark sarcasm is now not just directed at archrival Shah Rukh Khan. Going by recent incidents at public events, Katrina Kaif has been at the receiving end of Salman's tongue in cheek remarks.
However, onlookers have been reading between the lines of these barbed comments on more than one occasion. Here's a flashback on some of the infamous Sallu rantings
Grrrr... the tiger's on the prowl
At the recent press conference for Salman Khan's spy thriller Ek Tha Tiger, the actor was present with his leading lady Katrina at the event. When gathered mediapersons asked Katrina if she was uncomfortable with her 'item girl' image, Salman chipped in, "Karan Johar is her best friend. So she did the song. And it wasn't Hrithik's hardwork or Sanjay Dutt's charm that won the film (Agneepath) accolades...it was all because of Katrina."
Salman didn't stop there. In fact, he even said how the actress did him a 'huge favour' by performing an item number in Bodyguard. He said, "Yeh toh inka baddappan hai, itna bada dil hai inka that she agreed. Who does it these days?"
This one takes the cake
As reported in a newspaper, at an awards function last year, Salman apparently stunned onlookers when he asked Katrina, "Aaj kal kiske saath hai? (Who are you with these days?)" With Katrina, who had reportedly broken up with Ranbir Kapoor recently, seething in anger, Salman apparently directed the same question towards a security guard present at the event.
Who's the boss?
On the sets of a reality show that Salman Khan was hosting, back in 2010, Katrina made an appearance to promote one of her films. Salman not only called the actress 'bhayankar' (dangerous) (knowing well her limited Hindi-speaking skills), but also asked the actress to rate Akshay Kumar, Ranbir Kapoor, Imran Khan and him as her favourite co-star. Katrina couldn't take it anymore and burst into tears backstage.
The joke's on Salman
Way back in 2007, on the sets of Kaun Banega Crorepati, Salman apparently told Shah Rukh Khan, "You can say whatever you want. She (Katrina) doesn't understand Hindi."
