IFA 2012: Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Announced with 5.5-in display, 1.6GHz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM and More

So far so true! And it feels good to finally admit that Samsung has announced the launch of the successor of Galaxy Note flagship model — Samsung Galaxy Note 2 — at the scheduled Unpacked Event in Berlin.
When the South Korean giant unveiled the massive phablet, it looked very similar to Galaxy S3. Samsung confirmed that the Galaxy note 2 features will include 5.5-inch Super AMOLED HD display, 1.6GHz quad-core CPU and a mammoth 2GB of RAM. Further, the Galaxy note 2 will house the S3-like 8MP back camera and, 1.9MP front camera and a beefy 3,100mAh battery.

Above all, Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will come running on Google’s latest operating system — Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and further, the phablet will be thinner than its predecessor at 9.4mm.

Moving ahead, the phablet will be available in three memory variants of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB and will also have a microSD slot. Reportedly, it has also been informed that Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will hit the retail shelves starting from October in markets across the globe in Marble White and Titanium Grey colors. However, Samsung has yet not revealed any details on the pricing of the device.

What about S-Pen?
One of the most exclusive features of Samsung Galaxy Note successor — S-Pen — has also been introduced by the Galaxy series manufacturer with a new revamped look with a rubber tip and an improved touch response. Moving ahead, now the S-Pen will also have a bevy of optimized third party apps from Autodesk who make Sketchbook and Moleskin.

Added Features
In addition, the new Note 2 has also come with a new feature called ‘Air View’ that will allow users to hover the S-Pen over e-mail, gallery or video to preview the content without touching the screen.

The new phablet has also been introduced with comprising some of the features of Galaxy S3 including the multi-tasking video feature called Pop-up-play in the form of Pop-Up Note that allows users to take notes while keeping another app open.

Another feature called Quick Command gets enabled when the user swipes the S-Pen upwards which brings up quick short-cuts for an array of widely used features like e-mail, search, and voice calls.
Furthermore, few more software features are added to Note 2 including Screen Recorder and more.
