LG's L-Style series just got a new member in the form of Optimus L9.
Featuring Ice Cream Sandwich, the smartphone will be showcased at the
IFA trade fair.
According to LG, Optimus L9 comes with 1GHz dual-core
processor and 4.7-inch IPS display. Company has however not revealed the
display resolution, which is probably qHD or WVGA. The smartphone also
comes with 1GB RAM, 5MP rear camera and high-density 2150 mAH SiO+
battery.
While Optimus L9 does come with the premium design
elements that were taken from Prada Phone for LG, but the main focus
seems to be on the software part. LG has bundled QTranslator, MY Style
Keypad and QMemo apps on the smartphone.
LG claims that
QTranslator instantly translates not only words, but also entire
sentences and phrases with a simple scan from nearly 44 foreign
languages to 64 user languages. Using Optical Character Recognition
(OCR) technology, it recognizes letters upon scanning with the camera
and utilizes electronic dictionary or online translation engine to
translate words, sentences or phrases.
On the other hand, My
Style Keypad adjusts the key formation of the virtual keypad depending
on whether user is typing with one hand or two hands or which hands.
QMemo is the note taking app, which was recently released for other
L-Style series smartphones.
"The Optimus L9 is a great smartphone
that appeals to every consumer. LG will continue to offer
differentiated value through the Optimus L9 and strengthen our position
in the smartphone market," said Dr. Jongseok Park, President and CEO of
LG Mobile Communications Company.
Company is yet to reveal the pricing or the availability information of this smartphone.
