Micromax,
the homegrown manufacturer seems pumping out Android smartphones with
huge batteries, dual SIM support and impressive specifications in the
sub Rs 10,000 price range.
Following on the same lines, the company has announced that it will
shortly launch an Android phablet dubbed A100 in the Indian market.
What to Expect?
The
latest offering of Micromax, A100 phablet will come packed sporting a 5
inch screen with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels. Hence, the handset’s
direct competitor would be smartphones like Spice Horizon and Samsung
Galaxy Note. Further, it will be a dual SIM handset that runs on Android
4.0 ICS operating system.
Report
have further informed that, Micromax A100 has an internal memory of 4
GB that can be expandable to 32 GB. The handset is listed to have a
larger battery of 2000 mAh and 5 MP camera. The processor clock speed
and the RAM capacity are still not known. Analysts assume that the
handset will have a dual core chipset, similar to the Superfone A90.
Price & Availability
Micromax
A100 is listed on the online shopping site, HomeShop18 for a price of
Rs 9,999. However, the listing says that the handset is out of stock. As
of now, A100 is not available and it is expected to hit the market by
the end of this month.
Substitute to Samsung Galaxy Note?
Talking
about Samsung Galaxy Note, it is king of phablets till now, which runs
on Android v2.3 (Gingerbread) OS and is powered by 1.4 GHz Dual Core ARM
Cortex-A9 Processor. The device is further loaded with a powerful 8
megapixel camera with an LED flash and a secondary
2 megapixel camera on the front supporting Full HD videos at 1920 x
1080 pixel resolution (30 fps). Further the Note houses a 5.29-inch HD
Super AMOLED Touchscreen along with S Pen and S Memo. And it is priced
around Rs 32,000 in India.
When
compared, of curse Galaxy Note is all together a better handset
against, Micromax A100 phablet, however those who have a budget
constraint or do not want to spend to o much buying a smartphone can opt
for the later one.
