Finally
the rumors have come out to be true and Taiwanese handset manufacturer
HTC has announced the launch of Desire X – the budget version of One S –
which was scoring a lot of rumors lately, with the codename Proto.
Commenting
on the launch of the smartphone, Jason Mackenzie, President, Global
Sales and Marketing for HTC Corporation said “HTC Desire X is an
extension of your social life. If you’re looking to enjoy and share high
quality multimedia, wherever you are, this is the phone for you. It not
only looks and sounds great, but also provides a super-fast, highly
personal mobile experience at a great price.”
Specifications
According
to the company, Desire X features a 4 inch Super LCD capacitive
touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. The mid-range
offering from HTC is equipped with a dual core 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8225
processor, 768MB RAM and 4GB internal memory, which can be expanded up
to 32GB.
Further,
the handset runs on Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich and has a 5MP rear
camera. Like any other HTC smartphone, the Desire X is integrated with
Beats Audio.
Moreover,
Desire X will be powered by a 1650 mAh Li-ion battery, which offers 750
hours standby and 20 hours talk time approximately.
Price & Availability
As
of now, there is no word on the pricing of the smartphone, however,
analysts assume that it will be priced at Rs 20,000 approximately, as it
is a mid-range Android handset.
HTC will release the Desire X in selected markets across Asia Pacific and EMEA starting from September 2012.
