As the end of the year approaches, the rumour mill about the next Galaxy S device from Samsung seems to be going into overdrive.

While the Samsung Galaxy S III was unveiled in May this year, there's plenty of buzz that its successor may be unveiled a bit earlier next year. With two big events at the start of the year, expect to hear more about the Samsung Galaxy S IV either at CES in Las Vegas in January, or (more likely) at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February 2013.

The first bit of rumour comes from Korean site Asiae and it says that the Samsung Galaxy S IV will have a 4.99-inch Super AMOLED display with 1920*1080 resolution, giving it a pixel density of 441PPI. That report is in line with earlier rumours which suggested that Samsung and LG are working on smartphones with full-HD display which may be released in first-half of 2013. It would make sense for Samsung's next flagship device to be its first smartphones with full-HD display.

According to another report, the Galaxy S IV will feature a 13-megapixel camera, a significant upgrade over the Galaxy S III's 8-megapixel rear shooter.

In addition to the above, there's more buzz about the Galaxy S IV featuring a 2 GHz quad-core Exynos processor and an 8-core GPU.
