While the launch of the new facelifted 2012 TVS Apache RTR 160 is slated on April 23, images of the flagship model have been surfacing on the internet. From what can be seen from the pictures, the new Apache doesn't look as it belongs to the TVS family, but to Bajaj with strikingly similar design to the Bajaj Pulsar 220 which is a let down.

This is what TVS has revealed about the all new TVS Apache RTR 160: “The all-new 2012 TVS Apache Series RTR features an all-new split footrest design, on the lines of international motorcycling standards. The rider footrest gets a sporty heel protector. The best part? The legendary Apache ergonomics remain untouched, even after a radical redesign.”

TVS has also made some changes to the new Apache's instrument cluster. The digital instrument cluster is now more sleek and fits well within the headlight fairing. The bodywork gets a re-look while the console mirrors are also new.

The engine of the new TVS Apache RTR 160 remains the same without any increase in power or torque. All together, the new Apache RTR 160 doesn't seem to have got any big change other than the not so impressive design makeover.

The whole TVS Apache brigade is a best combination of power and style with sporty looks. But my favorite is Apache 160 RTR which turns into cheetah on the road.
