Since
the evolution of the Galaxy Note with a 5.3 inch display, categorized
as a phablet, there have been many such hybrid devices been unveiled by
several manufacturers. Both the high-end and the low-end priced segments
of the market are seeing such devices.
Relatively, Kobian, a computer peripheral
manufacturer who sells handsets and tablets under the brand name
Mercury has come up with a new phablet, Mercury MagiQ priced at Rs
12,700.
Commenting
on the launch of the phablet, the country manager at Kobian, Sushmita
Das said, “Mercury magiQ tablet is a tab-cum-smart phone designed to
meet and satisfy current user needs. It has all the latest features and
an attractive slim and stylish look to complete the package with dual
SIM being the cherry on the top.”
Specifications
As
far as specifications are concerned, Mercury MagiQ houses a 5 inch
capacitive multi-touch touchscreen display. It is a dual SIM phablet
with is equipped with a 1 GHz single core
processor, 4GB internal memory and 512MB RAM. The handset also has a
micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB expandable memory.
The Mercury
MagiQ phablet has a 12 MP rear camera and secondary front camera for
video calling. It comes packed with connectivity features like
Bluetooth, 3G and Wi-Fi. The battery included in the device offers 15
days standby time and 13 hours talktime.
Moreover, the Mercury MagiQ runs on Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich OS.
What about Competition?
Well,
talking about competition Indian market is currently flooded with an
array of dual-SIM smartphones. However, the ones which can offer a
direct competition to MagiQ phablet are mentioned below:
Micromax Canvas A100
The
newly launched Micromax Canvas A100 phablet is also a budget phablet
which packs a 5 inch screen with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels and is
equipped with a dual core processor. Furthermore, it will be a dual SIM
handset that runs on Android 4.0 ICS operating system.
Further,
Micromax A100 has an an internal memory of 4 GB that can be expandable
to 32 GB. The handset is powered by a larger battery of 2000 mAh and 5
MP camera. It is released in India for a price of Rs 9,999.
Spice Stellar Horizon Mi500
At the same time, Spice Stellar Horizon has also been released in the market
recently, which includes features like 5 inch touchscreen and runs on
Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS. The handset is equipped with a 1GHz
dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 5MP rear camera and 0.3MP front
camera. It is also a dual SIM handset with decent battery specs. The
handset is available at a price of Rs 11,999.
