Samsung Working on Galaxy S3-like Android Based Camera With 16MP Sensor.. Really?

The IFA 2012 is drawing closer and the tech world is flooded with several rumors from different sources hinting at the knockout product launches from the tech titans like Sony, Samsung, Acer and Microsoft. Amid all these speculations, there is an interesting news which has grabbed all the tech enthusiasts attention. The talk is about the South Korean giant’s next revolutionary offering in the market – the 16MP Sensor Galaxy S Camera.


While, the Galaxy series creator is already in talks about the release of Galaxy Note successor which is assumed by the tech insiders to be scheduled on August 29, at the pre-IFA event. Now, GSMArena has come up with an exclusive report mentioned that a tipster has revealed the folks over there that Samsung is prepping a Galaxy S3 like Anbdroid-based point and shoot camera, dubbed as Galaxy S camera featuring a 4.8 Super AMOLED display and running on the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS and a whopping 16MP Camera sensor.

According to a report by GSMArena, the anonymous tipster has claimed to have already seen the Galaxy S camera, suggesting that Samsung fans are going to witness the device from the manufacturer in the not too distant future.

The Galaxy S camera which is reportedly 1.5 to 2 folds thicker than the flagship smartphone, is rumored to have a 10x zoom. Moreover, the camera will have a 16MP sensor, a curved right spine and a pop-out Xenon flash. The Galaxy S camera will be run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and will be available in two variants – Wi-Fi and 3G + Wi-Fi.
Coming to its availability, the Galaxy S Camera will be unveiled at the IFA 2012 alongside Galaxy Note 2
