Compare Samsung Galaxy Camera vs Nikon Coolpix S800C

Unknown | 10:35 PM | | | |

nikon-s800c-635.png

"Android camera." Wow, that has a weird ring, doesn't it? You just don't think of a camera as having an operating system. It's like saying "Windows toaster" or "Unix jump rope."
But yes, that's what it has come to. Ever since cellphone cameras got good enough for everyday snapshots, camera sales have been dropping. For millions of people, the ability to share a fresh photo wirelessly - Facebook, Twitter, e-mail, text message - is so tempting, they're willing to sacrifice a lot of real-camera goodness.

Canon Powershot SX160 IS Review

Unknown | 11:14 PM | |

Summary
With the SX120 IS, Canon had pretty much nailed the ergonomic design. The camera was great to hold and use, with a button layout that made accessing most features very easy and intuitive. Nothing has changed in that regard to the SX160 IS. It’s still a great camera to use, well balanced with a flash that needs to be manually raised in the event it is needed (by the push of a button). The buttons are placed exactly the same way they are in almost every single Canon point-and-shoot camera, so if you’ve ever used one of Canon’s cameras, you’d know almost immediately where everything is.

Shooting with the Samsung Galaxy Camera Review

Unknown | 10:35 PM | | |
In a room full of phones, the camera stood out. I'm not sure whether the Samsung Galaxy Camera will be a best seller - it's a lot of expensive tech for a point-and-shoot camera category where people are used to prices under $300. But for me, it was the weirdest, most interesting thing at an AT&T event full of interesting things. The Samsung Galaxy Camera is a point-and-shoot camera that runs Android 4.1. It isn't a phone, although it has a microphone and it could run Skype if you really wanted it to. We have hands ons from IFA and last month's Photokina already, but I got to take a bunch of photos with the Galaxy Camera, and I wanted to show them to you.

Photokina: Panasonic unveils Lumix GH3, takes video world by storm

Unknown | 6:46 AM | |
A few days before Photokina, Panasonic made a pretty huge slip-up, in the form of “accidentally” leaking the video promo for the long-rumoured Lumix GH3. It wasn’t a video where the camera made a cameo for a few seconds, but rather a video that centered on the finesse and prowess of the GH3. Once the video had gathered a couple of thousand views, Panasonic realized the goof-up and pulled the video.

At Photokina, Panasonic finally lifted the veils on the new beast, finally letting the world know just what the camera housed in terms of specifications. For starters, there is a 16 megapixel CMOS sensor along with Panasonic’s own Venus Engine VII FHD image processing chip. The sensor-chip combination allows the camera to swing between an ISO range of 200-12800.
