In basic terms, Google Glass is a lightweight headset with a projected display that also includes a camera, microphone, and the ability to connect to the Internet. This headset takes the form of a pair of high-tech glasses that allow wearers to accomplish a variety of tasks without ever having to fumble around for their smartphone or sit down in front of a computer.

Google Maps app for iPhone steers right
It was one of the biggest tech headlines of the year in September, Apple dropped its contract with Google, which had always supplied the data for the iPhone's Maps app. For various strategic reasons, Apple preferred to write a new app, based on a new database of the world that Apple intended to assemble itself.
As everybody knows by now, Apple got lost along the way. It was like a 22-car pileup. Timothy Cook, Apple's chief executive, made a quick turn, publicly apologizing, firing the executive responsible and vowing to fix Maps. For a company that prides itself on flawless execution, it was quite a detour.

Apple
Inc will host an event on October 23 where it is expected to unveil a
smaller iPad that will take on the less expensive devices offered by
Amazon.com Inc and Google Inc, a source familiar with the matter said on
Friday.
Wall Street analysts have predicted for months that Apple was planning a smaller, less costly version of its popular iPad to take on cheaper competing devices, a move that analysts say might hurt its margins, but prevent its rivals from dominating an increasingly important computing segment.

US regulators prepare antitrust case against Google over search
The
Federal Trade Commission is raising the ante in its antitrust
confrontation with Google with the commission staff preparing a
recommendation that the government sue the search giant.
The government's escalating pursuit of Google is the most far-reaching antitrust investigation of a corporation since the landmark federal case against Microsoft in the late 1990s. The agency's central focus is whether Google manipulates search results to favour its own products, and makes it harder for competitors and their products to appear prominently on a results page.
